Brea Thornton Occupational Therapy

Clinical Supervision
Hi, I'm Brea, a neurodivergent Mental Health OT with 8 years of experience in the NDIS and 3 years of experience supervising therapists. I'm passionate about supporting new graduates, early career clinicians, or more experienced OTs who may be new in the mental health space. There has been an increasing push for NDIS OTs to "do it all" with broader and broader caseloads meaning many clinicians are pushed into practice areas where they may not be supported or feel comfortable. I've also experienced burnout firsthand and worked with therapists on maintaining work life balance, managing caseloads, and implementing systems and strategies that work for them and their individual needs.

Supervision sessions are typically 1 hour conducted over telehealth and $180 per hour GST inclusive.
Style of Supervision
I approach supervision as a collaborative, strengths based, non-judgmental and reflective space which is led by your individual goals, needs, and learning style. Supervision is more than just clinical case load questions and includes your professional development and wellbeing.

This could include:
-
Clinical reasoning, therapy planning, and case discussion
-
Clinical skill development (specific mental health and OT modalities, interventions, or assessments)
-
Soft skills development (communication and interpersonal skills with clients, families, and professionals)
-
Reflective practice
-
Professional development (setting and reviewing goals, planning CPD or career progression)
-
Workload and time management (managing caseloads, billable time / KPIs, referral pathways)
-
Wellbeing and resilience
